Dell inspiron 700m mass storage controller contacted Dell Chat support and they told me to del the chipset and system software, but it did a whole lot of nothing! I am having the same exact problem! First things you need are to install the Notebook System Software, then reboot: That solves one issue. Then, isnpiron the Chipset driver, then reboot: Believe it or not that was the last one that I know of.
It almost seems random.
